NeoGeo Pocket Color Selection Vol. 1, a collection of ten classics from the NeoGeo Pocket Color portable console, is now available in the eShop for Nintendo Switch with a price of 39.99 euros. “For the more nostalgic, the games compatible with the NeoGeo Pocket can be played in monochrome and you can see the 3D models of the original games and their cartridges. The ten games can be enjoyed both in desktop mode and in laptop mode”, says SNK.
The games in the compilation are the following:
- Big Tournament Golf
- Dark Arms
- Fatal Fury First Contact
- King of Fighters R-2
- Metal Slug 1st Mission
- Metal Slug 2nd Mission
- Samurai Shodown! 2
- SNK Gals Fighters
- SNK vs. Capcom: The Match of the Millennium
- The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny
These games include Metal Slug, the veteran saga shooter 2D that stood out for the quality of its graphics and animations, or some of the fighting games included in the compilation.
Neo Geo Pocket Color was a 16-bit portable console released in 1999 that you fail in your attempt to eat up the Game Boy Color, and in your catalog we find some gems like SNK vs. Capcom, King of Fighters R-2 and other recreational adaptations. It also received support from other developers, such as Sega, which released Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure, based on Sonic 2, adaptations by Taito, Namco and other companies, but this was not enough for the system to disappear from sale a year later.

SNK fans can learn a little more about the history of the brand in the 90s with the prototype of Samurai Shodown 64, a slightly different version than the one released for Hyper Neo Geo 64, with a camera closer to the action and other playable changes.
