Epic Games lanz el Unreal Engine 5 early access, the new version of its popular graphics engine, at the end of May. Since then, a good handful of modders eager and time to tinker with the engine they have made their first steps and have spread their work through videos. However, as they count from DSO Gaming, the mud “Cloacked” wanted to share his feat not only through a gameplay, but allowing all those interested in their remastering of maps of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive download them for free.
The work of “Cloacked” has been nothing more and nothing less than adapting two of the most popular maps of the world. shooter Valve’s military-themed tactical engine to Epic Games’ graphics engine. They are de_dust2 and de_inferno, in their versions of Global Offensive. You can see how they have been in the video inserted under this paragraph, but you can also enter the Discord of Custom-Strike to try it out for yourselves.
That’s right, keep in mind that not precisely optimized. Video is running on a graphics card Nvidia RTX 3090, as explained in the description of YouTube, and as you can see, it does not go exactly at 60 frames per second. So don’t be surprised if your GTX 1060 (which is still the most popular graphics card) has a hard time moving the “Cloacked” job.
The recreation of the maps is not so surprising because of the models (which obviously improve those seen in the game, which is now almost nine years old), but because of the lighting. The Unreal Engine 5 has two great novelties: Nanite, the technology that allows to use in video games modeled of millions of polygons like those used in cinematographic productions; Y Lumen, a realistic lighting technology that even in the work of a fan as it is the case comes out (pay attention to the rays of light in the roofed parts of Dust 2).
Other recreations with Unreal Engine 5
During the last weeks we have seen as many works of this style: recreations of Skyrim, of an assumption Los Sims 5, from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, from Superman… If Epic’s plans don’t change, the final version of Unreal Engine 5 will be released later this year. Also your game Fortnite Battle Royale if you upgrade to this engine in the middle of this year.
