Yesterday was a great day for fans of The Witcher thanks to the celebration of WitcherCon, an event organized by Netflix and CD Project RED in which a multitude of announcements were made about the next products to come from this successful license. Not surprisingly, it was here that we saw for the first time the spectacular trailer of the second season of the Netflix series, although this is not the only thing related to the saga that the video-on-demand service is preparing.
A prequel starring Vesemir
As we already informed you in its day, this same year we will be able to enjoy The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, an animated film that we now know will premiere on Netflix very shortly: next August 23. As expected, this ad has been accompanied with its first trailer, although we are already letting you know that hardly anything is shown in it beyond a few brief sequences that allow us to get a better idea of how to look visually and the style of drawing that will have.
The tape follow the steps of Vesemir, a veteran warlock from Kaer Morhen whom we met in the books as the mentor of Geralt of Rivia himself, so it is a kind of prequel to the original work in which we can learn about the origins of this beloved character. How could it be otherwise, everything begins with a contract that leads our hero to try to save a kingdom from a strange monster that is sowing terror among its inhabitants.
El film is directed by Han Kwang II and scripted by Beau de Mayo, who are also its producers along with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the main person in charge of the Netflix series. The animation is in charge of Studio MIR, a studio that you will know for being responsible behind The Legend of Korra.
