Epic Games Store has updated its promotion of free games for PC: this week, the digital store offers The Spectrum Retreat At no cost to any user or the need for a paid subscription. Anyone registered on the platform will be able to access this free game Until the 8th of July at 5:00 p.m. (Spanish peninsular time), add it to the library and keep it free forever.
As usual, the digital store has also already announced what will be the free games that its users will be able to download next week: there will be two again, Ironcast Y Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead, both available from July 8 to 15, completely free of charge.
Puzzles, Bridges, and Victorian Science Fiction
The Spectrum Retreat it will cost 12,99 euros in Epic Games Store if not because this week it is free to download for PC. It is a title developed by Dan Smith and edited by Ripstone in 2018. In it we visit The Penrose, a peculiar hotel of immaculate style in which we will be offered a series of ingenious color puzzles that hide the mysterious secret of our endless stay in this accommodation.
On Vandal we were able to test it when it was originally released and in our analysis we said about it that “without being revolutionary it offers a good collection of challenges to overcome, with a very well measured difficulty curve and interesting mechanics. Now, its setting seems very, very good, and it has caught us with a story that mixes surrealism with everyday problems, very well told and integrated into the gameplay. “
Next week, when The Spectrum Retreat is no longer available for free, it will be replaced by Ironcast, a curious Victorian sci-fi action game whose battles are represented in an unremarkable two-dimensional system of nodes, and Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead, a free adaptation of this zombie franchise that challenges us to build bridges in the middle of the apocalypse with an original crossing of concepts.
