It’s time to go back to the apocalypse. The Serie The Last of Us, which we can enjoy in the HBO Spain catalog, has just kicked off its filming. Led by Craig Mazin (Chernbil), the production is in charge of adapting the Naughty Dog action horror game, which debuted on PlayStation 3 in 2013; with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey leading the cast in the roles of Joel and Ellie. While the recording takes place, Mazin has been in charge of revealing how many episodes will make up the first season: a total of 10.

The Last of Us: Back to the zombie apocalypse

Writer and executive producer Craig Mazin provided the tip during his appearance on the podcast Scriptnotes. It is in this conversation that Mazin indicated that the program will have five different directors for a total of 10 episodes. We know that Jasmila Zbanic and Ali Abbasi will be two of these filmmakers, but the other names have not yet been announced. Additionally, Mazin has confirmed that the first 3-4 episodes of the show have already been fully written.

At this time it is unknown how much history the first season of the series will cover, although we know the fact that the filming of the program will last a year to cover all the seasons of the game. That gives us the clue that, in these 10 chapters, it seems that the viewers they will enjoy much of the plot we were able to experiment with the Naughty Dog video game. Also note that Neil Druckmann, creator of the saga, also participates in the production.

On the podcast, Mazin also addresses the pre-production challenges you have faced The Last of Us like any other series: from the budget to the type of hairstyle that each character will wear.
