This year marks the 30th anniversary of Sonic and it is expected that, in addition to the announcement of the new adventure of the Sega mascot, we will see some remasters and collections that rescue the enormous legacy of 2D and 3D platforms. One of the surprises will be Sonic Colors Ultimate – Limited Edition, which has already appeared in the database of certain stores – it would rescue the Wii game for modern systems – but there is more. Sogamely, the French chain that had mentioned Sonic Colors, now shows Sonic Collection, some kind of compilation of the saga. Unfortunately it does not include cover or information, so we do not know if it covers the 2D era, more modern games from the Sonic Adventure or even the entire main saga.

Liam Robertson has also rescued a rumor last month where Zippo spoke of a collection of similar to the one published by Sogamely, which apparently this time it will include Sonic 3 & Knuckles -absent in many collections of Mega Drive games- although it will undergo some changes in the soundtrack, where Michael Jackson participated, which for years has been one of the problems to relaunch the game on current platforms.

E3 2021 is imminent

From June 12 to 15, the E3 2021 in digital format, and Sega will have to confirm its plans with Sonic -as well as other possible novelties-. Already in 2020 Sega promised news about Sonic throughout the year, but plans were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team, assured that in 2021 we will see “new video games, digital content, great announcements and a bespoke licensing program”, and in SXSW Gaming 2019 the development of a new title was already mentioned that, according to the leaks of stores, will be accompanied by remastered classics for all tastes.
