Amanita Design, creators of Machinarium, Botanicula, Chuchel Y Creaks, among others, offer their first game for free: Samorost. Originally launched in 2003 and for Flash -an obsolete technology that is no longer used in browsers-, it can now be enjoyed on PC -Windows and Mac-, iOS and Android with remastered sounds, improved graphics and new music from Floex. It is an adventure point-and-click featuring a “space gnome” that received two sequels, one in 2005 and one in 2016.

On Samorost we must solve a series of puzzles mainly with interactions in the correct order; there are no dialogues or inventory. One of the aspects that attracted the most attention, and that has been maintained in many other Amanita Design projects, is his visual style which in this case presents organic and surreal scenes with manipulated photographs, in addition to a sound atmosphere with great personality.

A game by Jakub Dvorsk

Samorost It was the work of Jakub Dvorsk when he was a student at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Although it was a short demo and with a rather simple gameplay, its realization drew attention and achieved Top Talent Award and Webby Award nominations.

The studio is now working on Happy Game, scheduled for this year on PC and Nintendo Switch, where a young man falls asleep in a terrible nightmare; his mission will be to escape from these three bad dreams to be happy again.
