Asobo Studio has published the fourth world update from Microsoft Flight Simulator, the aeronautical simulator for PC and soon for Xbox consoles. The free content focuses on recreating in more detail the capitals, airports and points of interest of four European countries: France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. In all four countries, the recreation of the natural lands (mountains, forests, etc.), high-resolution three-dimensional photogrammetry has been used to represent Paris and Amsterdam reliably, have been added three handcrafted airports (Megve, Nice and Rotterdam), and visual and logistical improvements have been made to 100 airports in those territories.
In addition, three activities have been added: a Landing challenge at La Salette and two Bush Trip to the Pyrenees and the Alps. To all this must be added more than one hundred points of interest recreated in great detail in all four countries, but especially in France. We list them below:
- Netherlands: Afsluitdijk Dam, Amsterdam National Museum, Johan Cruyff Arena, Rotterdam Airport and Kinderdijk Windmills
- Blgica: Antwerp Cathedral, Church of Our Lady, Cathedral of Our Lady of Tournai, Palace of Justice of Brussels, Basilica of the Sacred Heart and Panorama of Waterloo.
- Luxembourg: Vianden Castle, National Sports and Cultural Center.
- France: Douaumont ossuary, Strasbourg Cathedral, Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, Arc-et-Senans Royal Saltworks, Vzelay Basilica, Chenonceau Castle, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Sacred Heart Basilica, Arch of La Defense, Park stadium Princes, Pierrefonds Castle, Vimy Canadian National Memorial, Lille Citadel, Baha del Somme, Tretat, Normandy Bridge, Roches-Douvres Lighthouse, Costars Castle, Cairn de Barnenez, Virgin Island Lighthouse , Saint-Nazaire Bridge, Fort Boyard, Abada de Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe, the Pic Du Midi Observatory of the Pyrenees, Quribus Castle, Millau Viaduct, The Camargue in the Rhone delta, Baslica de Notre -Dame de la Garde, Baslica Notre-Dame de Fourvire, Lake Annecy, Torre Perret, Monte Aiguille, Mont Blanc and Château d’If.
It will be released on Xbox consoles in summer 2021
Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on computers with Windows 10 in Spain and the rest of the world since 17 Aug 2020. In summer it will also be released on Xbox Series X / S; recently, the European age rating body (PEGI) registered the version for Xbox One.
