Electronic Arts has pulled the curtain down to introduce us to the new DICE LA: it’s about the development team Ripple Effect Studios. In this way, the Los Angeles studio led by Christian Grass go on to adopt this new name. As for the things they are up to, we already have some clues: this studio is currently collaborating with DICE in the creation of Battlefield 2042 but, in addition, plans are to expand this template and launch a new own project.
Ripple Effect Studios, the new DICE LA
Regarding the “declaration of intent” of this development team, from Electronic Arts they maintain that Ripple Effect Studios is based on “the conviction of small ideas that end up becoming great innovations and changes in the way the industry deals with video game development, online services, the life of the studio itself and the commitment to the community. “In this way, its focus will be directed to the continuous innovation and renewal of the sector.
“En Ripple Effect Studios, innovation and quality are at the forefront of every projectBecause even the smallest idea can change the world. This is the defining characteristic of the new studio name, “said Christian Grass, CEO of Ripple Effect Studios.” We are very proud of our work as DICE LA and the DICE team is always part of our DNA, but in the last eight years we have developed our own culture and our own way of doing things. We are excited to look to the future, expand the team and establish our own identity“.
“We have developed our own culture and our own way of doing things”
Within the dome of Ripple Effect Studios we also find Vince Zampella, founder of Respawn Entertainment and CEO of the studio, who assumed a leadership role in January 2020. Together with Grass, Zameplla seeks to open the doors of this team to new artists, designers and leading engineers in the industry, while continuing to shape to Battlefield 2042 Y start the development of a project not yet announced.
“The studio has a great track record and is ready to grow and become another stronghold of high-quality video games,” said Vince Zampella in the press release. “With an amazing new complex coming to Los Angeles and with several remote positions available, it’s a great time to consider joining our team“.
