Sales of Detroit: Become Human they are slow, but steady. The narrative game of Quantic Dream has achieved reach 6 million units sold, three years after its debut in Spain and around the world. This figure comes after it was announced in August 2020 that it had reached 5 million, so it has taken just under a year to add a new million copies. The title, which invites us to dive into a futuristic Detroit populated by androids and humans, offers players a complex story that they have to unfold with their actions.
Detroit: Become Human reaches 6 million copies sold
This week development studio Quantic Dream announced that total sales of Detroit: Become Human have exceeded 6 million total sales, adding the copies sold on PlayStation 4 and PC. Recall that the game was originally released in 2018 on PS4, while the version for computers has been available since its arrival on the Epic Games Store in 2019 and on Steam in June 2020. Of the total announced, we know that at least 3 million copies pertain to his performance on the Sony console.
“What is it that makes us human?”, is the question with which Detroit: Become Human set the tone and focus of their story: Players immerse themselves in the city of Detroit in the year 2023. At this point, technology has advanced to the point where both androids and humans populate every corner of the city. “They talk, move and behave like human beings, but they are only machines at the service of humans”, reads the synopsis. The game was also surrounded by a large cast of world-famous actors to bring its characters to life, including Jesse Williams (Anatoma de Gray), Clancy Brown (Carnivale), Lance Henriksen (Aliens), Bryan Dechart (True Blood) y Valorie Curry (Twilight). At the moment there is no announced sequel to the title, although David Cage admitted that they will if they find the idea and the way to do it right.
