Death Stranding Director’s Cut to be exclusive to PlayStation 5, according to the United States’ age rating body, the ESRB. The game was announced at the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live! held on the night of June 10, where Hideo Kojima gave way to an enigmatic trailer of the new version of his adventure of which will give more details “soon”.
In that video it was specified that what was shown was captured on PS5 and at the beginning of the trailer the logo of PlayStation Studios was shown. The YouTube description only specifies that it is the same game published on PS4 and PC, “now expanded and remasteredor for the PlayStation 5 console in this definitive Director’s Cut. “
How they report from Gematsu, the medium that has detected the record in the ESRB, the product description in the age rating body is practically the same as in the game tab for PS4 (We will not detail it here because it contains spoils of the plot), but an interesting line is added.
“In some phases the players can perform stealth takedowns of enemies (for example, strangling characters from behind). ” Death Stranding: Director’s Cut showed numerous references to Metal Gear Solid, and the fact that these phases are mentioned in which playing in stealth partly confirms the return of a kind of Special Missions (known as VR Missions in Japan and the United States).
Description is the same as the rating for the original Death Stranding, but includes the following new line: “In some stages, players can perform stealth takedowns of enemies (e.g., strangling characters from behind).”— Gematsu (@gematsucom) June 21, 2021
Beyond this, it is unknown, beyond the visual enhancement, what will be the news of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. What the ESRB does make clear to us is that, for the moment, the players of PS4 and PC (the title is available on Steam and Epic Games Store since July 2020, edited by 505 Games) will not receive the new content. The new version for PS5 No date launch.
