Beat Games has announced that the fourth downloadable content for Beat Saber original soundtrack, OST4, to be released for free on March 18. The theme for this pack is guitars and metal sounds, because according to Jaroslav Beck, current head of music at Beat Games, these days the title has a lot of electronic music and he always wanted some hard rock songs.
Last December you could hear a small preview of one of the songs during a live. In addition, messages on Twitter seem to hint that there will be a new environment for the game.
Beat Games was acquired by Oculus
Beat Saber is a virtual reality game with musical rhythms that takes place in a surreal setting where the player hits blocks that represent the rhythms of the music with a kind of laser swords. It is available for most virtual reality devices on PC and also PS VR on PS4, and although in 2019 Beat Games was acquired by Oculus Studios, the team continues to operate independently, updating all kinds of devices -not just Oculus-. It remains one of the highest rated releases in virtual reality along with Half-Life: Alyx Y Astro Bot Rescue Mission.
During the last years he has received various music packs, free and paid, with original and licensed music. Among the most popular group themes encontramos Imagine Dragons, Panic! at the Disco, Green Day, Linkin Park y BTS. The community has also worked on creating their modifications to include custom songs, something that for example served to introduce Toss a coin to your witcher, a song heard in the series of The Witcher turned into a meme sung by the bard Dandelion (Joey Batey).
