AMD, the well-known hardware brand led by Lisa Su, has finally released its technology FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) that comes as a response to NVIDIA’s DLSS and that will be compatible with different titles during the next few months.

As we told you a long time ago, FSR is a technology of eopen source spatial scaling designed to increase the number of frames per second (fps) in our favorite games while enjoying high image quality and resolution. In the case of FSR we can enjoy four different options depending on our needs and they will be Performance, Balanced, Quality and Ultra Quality.

This technology is now released in seven games, Year 1800, Evil Genius 2, Godfall, Kingshunt, 22 Racing Series, Terminator: Resistance Y The Riftbreaker. It is expected that throughout 2021 there will be more games compatible with FSR as the different APIs, graphics engines and studios get to know and adopt this system from AMD that will be available to all developers as an open source tool in mid-July 2021 .

Compatible with more than 100 GPUs from AMD, XSX / S … and PS5?

FidelityFX Super Resolution is compatible with more than 100 graphics cards and AMD APU of several generations (RX 6000, RX 5000, RX 500 and RX Vega Series as well as all AMD Ryzen processors with Radeon graphics) in addition to being also available for NVIDIA graphics and can work with Series 10, 20 and 30 of the graphs of the competition.

Besides FSR also support XSX / S, something Microsoft has been quick to announce. In principle, the technology was also announced for PS5 a few months ago, although Sony has not made a statement in this regard, which has generated certain doubts among users.

In this sense at the level of hardware there should be no problem to integrate FSR and, in fact, EXOR Studios, developer of The Riftbreaker, has ensured that there is no walk that prevents him from enabling FSR in the version of the game for PS5 although they do or not “It is a question that we cannot answer at this time.“.
